A complementary pathway
Some practitioners also explore Vitality Balancing, a complementary system of somatic and energetic practices developed through the Australian College of Vital Health. It is distinct from IER, and may be considered alongside the IER framework where it fits a practitioner's existing scope, training, and client context.
IER provides the ecological map and practitioner process; complementary modalities remain the practitioner's responsibility to apply appropriately.
The Ideal Practitioner
Inner Ecology Repatterning practitioner training is designed for people who already work with people - and who sense that lasting change asks for more than protocols and quick fixes.
Delivery Format
Designed to be transformative and do-able for working practitioners - approximately 2-3 hours per week over 32 weeks.
Delivered through a dedicated online portal with drip-fed weekly modules. Study from anywhere, in your own rhythm within each week.
Each week: module content (60-90 minutes), a reflection practice (20-30 minutes), and written submissions at key points in the programme.
Fortnightly 90-minute live group supervision calls with Bruce Gibson ND throughout Part 3, plus an asynchronous peer forum.
The Philosophy
"The inner landscape of the practitioner is not separate from the work. It is the work."
This programme is built on a single foundational premise: the human being is not a machine with broken parts to be repaired. The human being is a living ecosystem. And a living ecosystem is restored not by force, but by the patient, intelligent creation of the conditions in which life can regenerate itself.
The programme asks you to walk the terrain of your own inner ecology before you guide others through theirs. It asks you to develop genuine clinical competence, not just conceptual familiarity. And it asks you to make a real, witnessed commitment to your own ongoing inner ecology work as a practitioner - because that work is never finished.
IER Practitioner Training is an evidence-informed clinical philosophy programme. It draws on established research in polyvagal theory, circadian biology, somatic psychology, and psychoneuroimmunology, integrated within a wholistic naturopathic framework. Developed and reviewed by Bruce Gibson ND (naturopath, 30+ years clinical practice, Australia).
The Operational Expression
The process is the operational expression of Inner Ecology, not an isolated technique or fixed protocol. It gives practitioners a coherent way to move from understanding the living ecology to choosing responsive support, integrating change, and reviewing what is emerging. Review begins the next cycle of observation.
The Memory Sequence
Observe →Map →Identify →Prioritise →Repattern →Integrate →Review
Step 01 — Observe
Begin with practitioner presence. Step back and notice the living system as a whole, holding space for the client's current reality without rushing to fix it.

Explore how the person's experience is expressed. The Seven Domains map where the ecology operates and how those interconnected layers influence one another.
Step 02 — Map
Step 02 — Map
Explore how the person's experience is expressed. The Seven Domains map where the ecology operates and how those interconnected layers influence one another.
Step 03 — Identify
Recognise where the natural expression of the system has become disrupted, noticing areas of reduced capacity, stagnation, or disconnection.

The Five Regenerative Levers help identify where change can be supported, guiding a responsive choice about what to prioritise now.

Step 05 — Repattern
Support appropriately paced conditions in which new pathways of regulation, flow, and coherence may become possible.

Step 07 — Review

Programme Structure
Supervised Practice
Throughout Part 3, practitioners are supported by three interwoven modes of supervision. No practitioner navigates the complexity of advanced clinical work alone.
Fortnightly 90-minute group supervision calls with Bruce Gibson ND throughout Part 3. Real cases, real questions, real guidance.
An asynchronous peer forum for daily case discussion, reflection sharing, and mutual support between participants.
Ten written submissions reviewed personally by the programme supervisor with detailed written feedback on each.
Certification
Awarded upon successful completion of all three parts and submission of the Certification Portfolio. Reviewed personally by Bruce Gibson ND.
Certificate wording: IER Practitioner Certificate, awarded by the Australian College of Vital Health upon successful completion of the Inner Ecology Repatterning Practitioner Training Programme.
IER Practitioner Certification is an educational practitioner certification. It is not a government-regulated qualification, statutory professional registration, or a substitute for professional accreditation required by any licensing body. Practitioners are expected to work within their own professional scope of practice and applicable regulatory requirements.
The Practitioner's Commitment - the final element of the portfolio - is a formal, witnessed declaration of your ongoing inner ecology work as a practitioner. It is not a formality. It is the beginning of your professional life as an IER practitioner.

This is a 32-week professional training, delivered in three parts, with supervised clinical practice and portfolio-based certification. It is built for practitioners who want a coherent way to hold the whole system in front of them, rather than another set of protocols to bolt on.
Numbers will be limited so that supervision stays genuine. Adding your name places you on the waitlist and puts you first in line when dates and enrolment details are released. No obligation.
